WRINKLE RELAXERS — DR. NEMA

Over 20 years of experience, one focus:
Natural-looking results
Neuromodulators — often called wrinkle relaxers — are the most common non-surgical cosmetic treatment performed worldwide. They've become popular for good reason: they're quick, effective, and, in a skilled practitioner's hands, can look remarkably natural. Used to soften facial wrinkles, they're a mainstay for both preventing early signs of ageing and softening the ones already there.
Beautiful, Natural Results
Neuromodulators relax the muscles of the face and neck, gently smoothing forehead lines, crow's feet, and the furrows between the brows — the very lines that can make someone look tired, stressed, or upset even when they're not.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Dr. Nema keeps your schedule in mind when planning treatment. For your first neuromodulator appointment, plan to spend 30–45 minutes in the office — enough time for an in-depth facial analysis, Dr. Nema's personalised recommendations, and the treatment itself. Follow-up visits are much quicker, often just 15–20 minutes, so they can fit around a lunch break or other commitments.
DOES IT HURT?
Because the treatment involves a fine needle, most patients feel no more than a brief sting — and Dr. Nema's technique is quick, which helps keep any discomfort minimal. If you're nervous about pain or would simply like extra comfort, a few options are available: numbing cream, a cold compress beforehand, a local anaesthetic nerve block, our proprietary vibratory pain-relief device, a numbing-medicine-infused product, or a combination of these.

HOW DO NEUROMODULATORS WORK FOR REDUCING TENSION?
As well as softening wrinkles, neuromodulators can be injected into tension-prone areas — such as the jawline and trapezius muscle — to provide fairly fast, temporary relief for teeth-grinders and desk-workers with poor posture. They work by blocking nerve signals to the injected muscles, causing them to relax and, over time, shrink slightly. This can ease knots and pain, while also giving the neck and shoulders a slimmer appearance.
CAN NEUROMODULATORS TREAT EXCESSIVE SWEATING?
Yes — they're FDA-approved for treating excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) when injected into the armpits, and are also used off-label for sweaty hands and feet. They work by blocking the release of the neurotransmitter that signals sweat glands to produce sweat, addressing excessive sweating at its source in the treated area.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES TO WRINKLE RELAXERS?
Nothing relaxes the muscles that create dynamic wrinkles quite the way neuromodulatos can. But if it's not for you, there are other approaches worth trying:
-
Collagen-boosting treatments such as Sylfirm X, our microneedling radiofrequency modality, or CO2 resurfacing laser — these encourage the skin to rebuild its own collagen, softening the appearance of lines over time.
-
A night cream containing retinol, which stimulates collagen production in the skin and can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
