A graduate of University College Dublin School of Medicine and Thomas Jefferson University, he also completed a rigorous internal medicine residency. He dedicated the first fifteen years of his career to the Health Executive Services (HSE), where he refined his medical and surgical expertise, educated residents, and conducted clinical research.
